This weekend marked the very first All Star Club-Wuhan Social Open House Party, with an impressive turnout on the night and Djs that kept people on the dance-floor until early in the morning. Sponsorship from Vedett ensured that the bar was always lined up with Vedett beers, among an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on the All Star menu.

Behind the scenes

Managed by Cameroonian PhD candidate Morgan, All Star has one simple wish for each person that enters the club: to have a truly memorable experience, an “All Star” experience. Morgan’s international team of both Chinese and foreign staff are always on standby and ready to serve. They are uniformly dressed and have a friendly approach that caters for each person’s needs to make them feel like the star of the night.

All Star club is also pretty easy to find. The club is just a few minutes’ drive away from the Optics Valley traffic circle and  just 200 meters walk from the Guangu Helens.

3 Djs from Angola, the Caribbean Islands and Rwanda worked on rotation to play the latest dance and pop music from all over the world. Their smooth transitions from one song to the next played in with the changes in lighting around the club to create a unique atmosphere throughout the night.
The spacious dance-floor was almost always packed with the party people of Wuhan shaking off the chilly Winter weather into the early hours of the next morning.

The Menu

There’s plenty to pick from on the All Star menu. From the usual Corona, Budweiser and Heineken beers starting at a fair 20 RMB, to the likes of Rio, Vedett and Erdinger. 30 RMB gets you a mixture jug of whiskey or vodka with coke, sprite or orange juice. Spirits range from 150 to 390 RMB with options such as Skyy Vodka, Jack Daniels, and Bacardi. For more bubbly options, one can pop a bottle of Moscato champagne for 390 RMB.

Shisha with table service is also available for 80 and 100 RMB with a variety of flavours to pick from.

With new bars and clubs popping up all over the city, the competition is tough for up-coming ones like All Star. A challenge that lies ahead will be of growing their current regular customer base and keeping that spark that keeps drawing people out on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights. If the All Star open house party is anything to go by, the future really does look bright for this new club. Wuhan should expect more fireworks from Optics Valley because All Star club is only getting started!
